Wrocław, the capital of Lower Silesia, is one of the most beau- tiful and oldest cities in Europe. It is Poland’s fourth-largest city, located on the River Oder in the south-west part of the country at the feet of the Sudety Mountains. Wrocław is commonly called the Venice of Central Europe because of its 12 islands and over 100 bridges (even more than in Venice!). During 1000 years of the history, Wrocław often changed its face and political status. Going the rounds from one country to another (Bohemian, Hungarian, Austrian-Prusian and German), Wrocław eventually became Polish after the Second World War. Foreign influences have always been present in the history of the city. On your arrival you will certainly feel the energetic multicultural atmosphere. Wrocław is the meeting place, the place of international conferences, festivals, fairs and exhibitions attracting peo- ple from all over the world. Placed in the central part of Europe, Wrocław is a perfect logistics center, it has a well developed infrastructure (main train stations, international airport, inland waterway, modern roads system and high- way).
