22 GENERAL PRESENTATION OF THE ACADEMY Doctoral School, including countries such as Austria, Brazil, China, Greece, Iran, Mexico, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom. • Our PhD students actively participate in the life of the international artistic and scientific community, taking an active part in exhibitions, competitions, residencies, symposia and conferences, carrying out research and implementation projects and publishing texts in spe- cialist journals and scientific monographs. • In accordance with the Law on Higher Education and Science (of 20 July 2018), all PhD students at Polish doctoral schools receive high monthly scholarships (which are further increased after passing the mid- term evaluation). In addition, in the case of the Doc- toral School at our Academy, some foreign doctoral students receive increased scholarships within the STER programme, funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange.
