For decades, the word "paiting" was a synonym for fine art. Today, it is one of the most popular means of artistic expression, respected and appreciated by artists, critics, and viewers alike. No matter what revolutions appear in modern art, painting (together with drawing) remains the base of artistic education. While studying painting our students develop understanding of colour, surface, and space as well as composition and texture. Our students freely choose painting studios run by artists with various visions of paint- ing, teaching, and artistic thinking. Our "master-student" relation model is de- signed to produce the most succesfull results. We support our students with both technological knowledge and a wide understanding of current and past artistic movements. Thorough understanding of craft, based on ex- tensive academic knowledge, enables our students to become modern and open-minded painters.
